Manage Recommended Layout Settings

Optionally, you can specify whether to allow DAZzle to suggest a layout when you switch shipment types, also known as shipment characteristics. Shipment characteristics include mail class, delivery address (domestic, international, APO/FPO, US territory), package type, and printer and paper selection.

Note: Recommended layout selection is not available to Open and Distribute processes.

You can also indicate the default layouts to use for a given mail class or revert to the default layouts.

Note: A number of fields for mail classes or services on the Manage Recommended Layout Settings window show no layout. These mail classes and services use the Default layout—the first item on the list—unless you specify some other layout.

Steps

From the Design tab or the Address Book tab, select Layout > Recommendations.

The Manage Layout Recommendations window displays the default layouts for the listed mail classes
On the Manage Layout Recommendations Settings window, choose one:
- Enable recommended layout selection: Select the Use layout recommendations check box.
- Disable recommended layout selection: Clear the Use layout recommendations check box.
If you have enabled layout recommendations, select one of the following:

Prompt with recommended layout: Display a message that asks you whether to use a recommended layout or select a layout.
Automatically use recommended layout: Automatically switch the layout when the shipment characteristic is changed.

Optional: You can use either the provided default layouts or indicate specific default layouts for various mail classes or services:
- To change the default layout for a mail class, click Change button on the mail class or mail service row, select the desired layout, and click OK.
  - Note: Although you can change the settings anytime, the settings apply only if you have enabled recommended layout selection.
- Optional: To revert to the original DAZzle default layouts, or if you had added or changed to some other type of printer, click the Reset Based on Default Printer button.
Click OK.
