About Preparing Endicia Global Service Shipping Labels
You can print Endicia Global Service (EGS) shipping labels from either Order Lookup or Batch Print.
- Note: EGS is currently available only to Brazil and Mexico.
The shipping label printing procedures are generally similar to printing other shipping labels, but in addition, you must:
- Enable Endicia Global Service and perform setup.
- Select the Endicia Global Service mail class for your shipping label.
- Provide a valid postal code of the recipient.
- Determine whether to include Endicia Parcel Insurance. (The Endicia Parcel Insurance fee is billed in arrears with the Endicia monthly service fee.)
- Determine who pays customs duties and taxes—either you or the recipient:
- If you pay duties and taxes instead of the recipient, you pay at the time you print the shipping label. You must provide the recipient's Local Tax ID. By default, you pay customs duties and taxes.
- If the recipient pays customs duties and taxes instead of you, you must provide the recipient's email address and Local Tax ID. The third-party international shipping service company contacts recipient to request and collect payment before shipping internationally. If the recipient refuses to pay customs duties and taxes, the service can return the package to you. Postage refunds for returned packages are not available.
- Determine how to handle undeliverable shipments. You can choose to have the package returned to you or abandon the package. Additional fees may apply.
- Use the Endicia Tracking Number to track your shipment at http://www.endicia.com/auth.
- Be aware that limitations on weight, insurance value, and package value vary by destination country. Endicia Professional performs validations on weight, insurance values, and package value.
- Although you do not print the customs forms, you must complete the EGS customs information, which is supplied to the third-party international shipping company.
- Use a Product Item Code if the HS Tariff Code is not available at the item level. The following table shows Product Item Codes that you must use if the HS Tariff Code is not available:
