New Shipping Services Prices Effective January 18th, Deeper Discounts for Volume Shippers  The USPS has announced a price change on the shipping services categories, effective Sunday, January 18th, 2009. Prices for Express Mail, Priority Mail, and some international shipping products will change in order for the USPS to stay competitive with other private carriers. As always, the price you see is the price you pay with the USPS. There are no hidden or fuel surcharges with the USPS. Overall, shipping services prices will increase an average of 5 percent.

In this price change, the USPS is introducing Commercial Plus pricing, an extraordinary value for high volume Express Mail and Priority Mail users. Customers who qualify for Express Mail Commercial Plus pricing will save 14.5% from retail prices, and customers who qualify for Priority Mail Commercial Plus will save 7% on average from retail prices.

The USPS is also introducing a new Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box which will cost $4.80 for domestic delivery. This box will also be available for international delivery and will cost $10.95 for delivery to Mexico and Canada and $12.95 to other countries. The box measures 8 5/8" x 5 3/8" x 1 5/8" and is about the size of a video cassette.

Software Update

Software update
Your Endicia software will ask you to update your software prior to the January 18th price change. Please allow this update to be performed when you are prompted. If you have allowed the update, the software will use the old prices before January 18th and will automatically switch to the new prices from that date forward.
