Tips and Hints

Screenshot Postage Dating Tips

Endicia software has the ability to print shipping and mailing labels with a future date. It’s a great feature to keep in mind as shipping season heats up. If your packages have already been picked up or dropped off for the day, you can still process labels for the next day simply by selecting the next day in the Ship Date menu. Please note that it is important to make sure your package enters the mail stream on the day you specified, so that your delivery statistics and tracking information are as accurate as possible.

If you do print the wrong date on a label, there is a way to print a correction. Here’s more information on that process.

Did You Know?

As of May 2010, DYMO Endicia’s customers have printed $5 Billion dollars worth of postage through our software.

In The News

USPS Price Change

On July 6, 2010, the U.S. Postal Service® proposed new price changes that would go into effect on Sunday, January 2, 2011. You can find details of the filing at usps.com/prices. Please keep in mind that these prices are not necessarily final as they have yet to be approved. We expect updated shipping prices to be announced in October. Those prices would also go into effect in January 2, 2011.

We will have more information for you in the coming months on the DYMO Endicia website as well as in our November newsletter. We will also be holding a series of webinars dedicated to covering details on the price change and what it means for your business.

PACT Act

On March 31, 2010, the PACT (Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking) Act was signed into law by Congress. This means that, effective June 29, 2010, cigarettes, including roll-your-own tobacco and smokeless tobacco are "nonmailable" matter and cannot be shipped using the U.S. Postal Service®, unless the shipment falls within certain exceptions.

Additional information about the PACT Act has been summarized in the Postal Bulletin: http://www.usps.com/cpim/ftp/bulletin/2010/pb22287/html/welcome.htm. Please contact your U.S. Postal Service representative with any questions.
