Where can I find more information about the January 2016 price changes, and which services replace discontinued services?

  • I am used to using Critical Mail. Now that it is going away, what should I use instead?
Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelopes are an alternative to using a Critical Mail envelope. Both products use the same mailstream, and the delivery times are the same. In addition, First-Class Parcel Service may be another alternative. The thickness requirement is reduced from 1/4 inch to 1/20 inch.

  • I am used to using Priority Mail Express Flat Rate boxes. Now that it is going away, what should I use instead?
The Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes are still available and offer 2-3 day service. If you need a package delivered the next day, you may still use Priority Mail Express Flat Rate envelope options, such as the Padded Flat Rate envelope for smaller items. For larger items you can still use Priority Mail Express boxes, or you may use your own packaging.

  • I am used to using Regional Rate C boxes. Now that it is going away, what should I use instead?
You can use your own packaging with either Parcel Select or Priority Mail service. Since private carriers FedEx and UPS implemented even higher dimensional weight pricing this year, you will still be saving over using the private carriers.
