Back Up Postage Log Transactions

When you back up Postage Log transactions, the backup file is a compressed .ZIP file format. The default name of the backup file is epostage.zip. Optionally, you can specify an alternate directory and filename when you make your backup. If you later select the restore option, this is the file that DAZzle uses.

The file location, however, varies depending on how long DAZzle has been installed and whether DAZzle was installed in Shared Mode or Private Mode.

Note: Items that appear on the Postage Log tab are local log items. For more information, see About Log Files.

Suggestion! Specify a network location or a removable drive so that you still have your backup copy if something happens to your computer.

Steps

From the Postage Log tab, select File > Backup/Restore.
Select Backup and click OK.
Specify the location and file name of your backup file.
- Suggestion: Change the name of the EPOSTAGE.ZIP file to help you remember and identify what the file is, such as EPOSTAGE LOG BACKUP AS OF 02-14-2011.ZIP, but do not use slashes or symbols in the file name.
Click Save.
