First Internet Postage Service to Support Single-Ply Global Express Mail® Labels and Automated Customs Forms

04/29/2004

PALO ALTO, Calif.

Envelope Manager Software announces the availability of the next generation of its Endicia Internet Postage™ service. Version 4.6 of the DAZzle™ software adds a single-ply label that eliminates the need to manually fill out multi-part labels to send Global Express Mail. This software also adds support for printing automatic customs forms for all classes of International Mail.

Endicia Internet Postage was the first Internet Postage service to provide customers with integrated private insurance, hidden postage amounts, International Mail, Electronic Delivery and Signature Confirmation, and a convenient Express Mail solution. With this release, Endicia adds to its technology lead by being the first and only Internet Postage service to provide customers with convenient solutions for Global Express Mail and customs forms for all International Mail. “International Mail is an important category for USPS customers because of the global reach of online sales and auctions; however, International Mail has lacked the automation afforded by recent domestic mail advancements,” said Harry Whitehouse, president, Envelope Manager Software. “The single-ply Global Express Mail label and the automated customs forms dramatically improve the convenience of international shipping and provide yet another money- and time-saving feature to our Endicia Internet Postage customers.”

Major Features

Endicia users can now print the complete Global Express Mail shipping label using an ordinary laser or inkjet printer without manually filling out multi-part forms. Users simply provide the destination address, enter a list of package contents for customs, and select options for insurance or additional services. Users can also check the prohibitions, restrictions, helpful tips, areas served by Global Express Mail, and USPS service guidelines for the destination of their package. As with domestic Express Mail, users get the added convenience of 1-click status checks on all their tracked packages. This eliminates the need for keeping paper receipts or tracking numbers and typing that information in every time they need to get a package status.

Endicia Premium users can now automatically print customs forms for all International Mail, and send letters and packages around the world — from Abu Dhabi to Zimbabwe. Endicia doesn't just print the postage, it's a complete solution for mailing overseas. Endicia's International Mail Advisor shows users all the mail classes, rates, restrictions, prohibitions, observations, customs forms, and areas served for every destination. Users simply provide the address, select the mail class and weight, enter a list of package contents for customs, then print the label and documents.
