What is the Endicia Global Service program?

The Endicia Global Service program seeks to improve shipment delivery performance to Brazil and Mexico and introduces the ability to calculate and pay duties and taxes in advance of delivering shipments.

  • Is there an enrollment fee?

There is no additional fee to join the Endicia Global Service program.

  • Who is eligible to participate?

At this point, participation in the program requires that you be a customer of the Endicia Professional (certain version) or Endicia Label Server service plans as a multi-rate customer. If you are currently on one of those plans, you can opt in to this free program by agreeing to the Endicia Global Service terms and conditions.

  • How does this program impact my buyers?

Distinct changes for your buyers include:

    • Duties and Taxes: All shipments are assessed duties and taxes. In some situations, buyers in Brazil and Mexico receive goods without a charge from local authorities for duties and taxes. While this is infrequent, some buyers are aware that in the postal clearance process not all items are taxed. However, it is the assessment and payment of duties and taxes that leads to many of the delays into these markets. So, we provide you the actual cost of the duties and taxes and provide you the option to pay on behalf of your buyer (and you collect the taxes in your shipping and handling fees), or we provide a method for the buyer to pay their duties and taxes before the shipment is sent to Brazil or Mexico.

Note: One of the advantages of pre-assessment of duties and taxes is the speed at which items clear customs. Through Endicia Global Shipping, most items clear customs in one day, whereas it can take up to 10 days to clear customs in the usual postal clearance process.

    • Tracking: Without Endicia Global Service, your buyers will not be able to track their shipments (end-to-end) from the USPS website or their local postal service. Your buyers might see some of the tracking events, but they will no longer see all of the tracking events. We will share the tracking events with you directly through your Endicia account and through our web tracking portal.

Note: One of the advantages of this program is increased end-to-end visibility along with a higher scan rate at delivery.

  • How does the Endicia Global Service program impact me?

Distinct changes for you to consider include:

    • Duties and Taxes: All shipments are assessed duties and taxes. In some situations, buyers in Brazil receive goods without a charge from local authorities for duties and taxes. Although this is infrequent, some buyers are aware that in the postal clearance process not all items are taxed. Note: One of the advantages of using Endicia Global Service is pre-assessment of duties and taxes and the speed at which items  clear customs. With Endicia Global Service, most items clear customs in one day, whereas it can take up to 10 days to clear customs in the usual postal clearance process.

    • Tracking: Without Endicia Global Service, your buyers will not be able to track their shipments (end-to-end) from the USPS website or their local postal website. Your buyers might see some of the tracking events, but they will no longer see all of the tracking events. With Endicia Global Service, we will share the tracking events with you directly through your Endicia account and through our web tracking portal.

    • Labeling: Although we request all the necessary data to produce customs documentation, we do not require you to print and attach the documentation to your shipment. You simply print the domestic shipping label, which we provide, with a fixed address to our partner in Florida, and our partner handles all of the export documentation.

    • Postal Code: For shipments to Latin America using the Endicia Global Service program, we require a fully standardized address with a complete postal code.

    • Tax ID: If you are going to pay the duties and taxes on behalf of your buyer using the Endicia Global Service program, then you might be required to collect the Brazilian National Tax ID number known as the Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas (CPF) from your customer. This tax ID number is critical for the assessment of duties and taxes and is central to our customs clearance process. The tax ID is only required for shipments to Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, and Uruguay. If you do not have a CPF, then you can opt to have the buyer pay for the duties and taxes directly through our Secure Import web application.

Note: If you opt to have the buyer pay the duties and taxes, we will hold the goods in Miami until payment is received. After 7 days, if we do not receive payment, we will send the shipment back to your address in the US.

  • Who is SkyPostal and what do they do?
