With the January 2016 USPS price change, the Commercial Base rates for First-Class Package Service increased and are now higher than the First-Class Mail Parcel Retail rates for shipments weighing 1, 2, and 3 ounces. In order to ensure you pay the lowest postage price available, effective January 29, 2016, Endicia software will use the lower-priced First-Class Mail Parcel Retail rate instead of First-Class Package Service for shipments weighing 1, 2 or 3 ounces. No action is required to automatically get the lower of the two rates. When you select First-Class Package Service as your mail class, Endicia will choose the least expensive option between First-Class Mail Parcel rates and First-Class Package Service rates depending on the weight of the package. The lower postage amount is then charged to your account and will show on your shipping labels.

If you are using an earlier version of your Endicia software than those listed below, you will continue to see the First-Class Package Service rate on your screen, even if Endicia charges you for the lower First-Class Mail Parcel rate, which will still appear on your shipping label. In order to see the lower First-Class Mail Parcel rates in your Endicia software on your computer screen when applicable, you will need to upgrade to the latest version. To upgrade in your Endicia software, click on Help, then Check for updates.

Once you have updated your software to Endicia for Mac v2.16.2, Endicia Professional v6.21.6, DAZzle v16.1.09 or Endicia Platinum Shipper build 399 or higher, the lower retail rates for First-Class Mail Parcel will be shown on your screen for First-Class Package Service shipments weighing 1, 2 or 3 ounces. Endicia Label Server customers do not need to take any action to see the lower rates. If you choose not to upgrade, you will still receive the least expensive rate option automatically.
