About Rubber Stamp Options

The same text will appear on every label that uses that layout. Enter text that will appear all in one line and up to 300 characters long. For more information, see Add Static Text Using a Rubber Stamp.

If you plan to use addresses from a list or other reference fields, you can link up to a hundred list fields to Rubber Stamps. By setting up this link, you can print text besides the address on each envelope or label that is linked to the address. For procedures, see Link a Rubber Stamp to Reference Fields. You can also specify additional reference field links from an expanded list. For more information, see About Linking Additional Fields.

In addition to a stamp message or a reference field, DAZzle can also print serial number Rubber Stamps. Serialized number Rubber Stamps are numbers that are printed and change with each label or envelope. You can set the starting point and amount of change for the serial number. You can also embed the serial number within other text.

To embed the serial number with other text, enter the # sign in the Display message field to indicate where to print the serial number. If you do not enter any text in the Rubber Stamp message, DAZzle automatically inserts one # sign.

• Starting number ...MORE To use a serial number in this Rubber Stamp, in the Starting Number field,, enter the serial number to be printed on the first envelope or label. For example, you could use generated serial numbers to create invoice or receipt numbers.

• Increment ...MORE Enter the amount that the serial number should change on the label or envelope. If you enter a negative number, the count decreases, for example: 100, 99, 98....

• Reset to starting number after printing ...MORENormally DAZzle increments the serial number and saves the last-used number with the layout so that numbers are not repeated. However, if you select the Reset to Starting Number after Printing check box, DAZzle resets the count each time it prints so that each print session begins with the number in the Starting Number field.

• Use leading zeros, length of ...MORE To use leading zeros in the serial number (so that serial numbers always print with the same number of digits), select the Use Leading Zeros check box. Enter the number of digits to be used when printing with leading zeros. For example, 7 means that DAZzle populates the serial number with leading zeros so that seven digits are always in the number.

The options lets you display a markup or discounted amount based on the actual postage amount.

Disclaimer: Using these values does not change the actual postage. This is for display purposes only and does not affect the actual postage amount.

• Tip: Use Stealth postage to hide the actual postage amount on your label while using this Rubber Stamp option to display an alternate value to the recipient. For more information, see Hide Your Postage Amount Using Stealth Postage.
• Percentage (%) ...MORE Enter a positive number to increase or a negative number to decrease the actual postage amount by a percentage.
• Fixed Fee ($) ...MORE Enter a positive number to increase or a negative number to decrease the actual postage amount by the specified amount.

DAZzle can rotate (display and print at an angle) your Rubber Stamp if you enter a non-zero number in this box. You can enter any number from -360 to 360 (0 is no rotation). Rotation is clockwise for positive numbers. DAZzle can rotate only vector or True Type fonts. Bitmap fonts (such as the stock Microsoft Windows fonts, MS Serif, and so on) and barcodes cannot be rotated. High-speed printing does not support printing rotated text.

To print a Rubber Stamp as a barcode instead of human-readable text, select the Print as UCC/EAN 128 Barcode check box. See also About Using the Rubber Stamp as a Barcode.

To select the font characteristics (including color) for the Rubber Stamp, click the Fonts button. The font selection applies to the entire Rubber Stamp.

Note: High-speed printing does not support the choices of font, font style, color, or effect.
