About Address Verification Preferences

The settings on the Address Verification tab let you specify preferences for:

• Domestic address verification, which provides results through the USPS national address directory.
• International address lookup, which provides results for reference purposes only. International address lookup results are provided for reference purposes only! You should verify the correct address with the recipient to ensure accuracy.

Domestic Address Verification

For US domestic address verification, you can set the following options:

• Method options include:

  For address verification, you can use either:

  • USPS AMS DVD ...MORE Select this option if you have the USPS AMS DVD, which contains the US national address directory that you install to your hard drive. DAZzle performs all ZIP+4 and address lookups using the DVD. To order an AMS subscription, contact Endicia.

  • Dial-A-ZIP (via Internet) ...MORE Select this option to have the Dial-A-ZIP process verify US domestic delivery addresses using the Internet to access the US Postal Service address database. The default web address is www.dial-a-zip.com. If you use a dial-up service to connect to the Internet, when you run Dial-A-ZIP, Dial-A-ZIP uses your current connection or automatically initiates a session if you are not connected to the Internet. If a dial-up session is initiated by DAZzle, you must terminate the connection when you are done with all of your Dial-A-ZIP address verification lookups.

  When running Dial-A-ZIP, DAZzle can update either:

  • Standardize Addresses. ...MORE It is highly recommended to submit addresses in the following format:
    
         Full Name
    
         Company
    
         Street Address + Ste/Apt
    
         City, State, ZIP
    
    The US Postal Service version of your address may not have the same appearance as what you have. Street types are abbreviated and apartment and suite numbers are placed at the end of the second to last line. You can alter the resulting address, but be careful not to deviate too much from the US Postal Service version or you might make your envelope undeliverable.

  • Add Only ZIP+4 to Addresses. ...MORE If you select the Add Only ZIP+4 to Address option, Dial-A-ZIP automatically adds the ZIP+4 to your address, but nothing is changed.

International Address Lookup

By default, the Lookup automatically before printing check box is not selected. To have DAZzle look up each international address each time you print, select the Lookup automatically before printing check box.
