About General Preferences

You can select one of the following save options:

• Automatically save current layout ...MORE To have DAZzle automatically save your layout, select the Automatically save current layout option. DAZzle saves your envelope layout changes.
  
  Important! Do not use this option if you are creating a new layout based on another layout, because DAZzle saves the new design in your old layout file before you can use the Save Layout As command.

• Prompt user to save current layout ...MORE To be prompted to save your layout when switching layouts or exiting DAZzle, select the Prompt user to save current layout option.

• Do not prompt to save and do not automatically save ...MORE If you do not want the prompts to save your layout to appear, and you do not want DAZzle to automatically save your layouts, select the Do Not Prompt to Save and Do Not Automatically Save option.

You can select none, either, or both of the following save options:

• Save Address with Layout ...MORE DAZzle saves the delivery address shown on the media selection in the layout file when this check box is selected. If this option is not selected, DAZzle uses the current address for any and all layouts.
  
  To save layouts for specific individuals, select the Save Address with Layout check box.
  
  To switch between layouts without DAZzle changing the address, clear the Save Address with Layout check box.

• Save Printer with Layout ...MORE If you have multiple printers, you can create a layout that automatically switches to a specific printer. To allow each layout to have a different printer associated with it, select the Save printer with layout check box.

• Indicate whether to do one of the following:
  • Enable layout recommendations by selecting the Use Layout Recommendations check box. If you enable layout selection, select either:
    • Prompt with recommended layout: Display a message that asks you whether to use a default or recommended layout or select a layout when you change the shipment type.
    • Automatically use recommended layout: Automatically switch to a default or recommended layout when the shipment characteristic is changed
  • Disable layout recommendations by clearing the Use Layout Recommendations check box.
• Access the Manage Layout Recommendations window to view and specify default layouts to use with layout selection: Click the Manage Layout Recommendations button.

You can specify the directories that DAZzle accesses for certain files.

• Caution! Make sure that existing, valid directories are selected; otherwise, unpredictable results may occur.

• Program ...MORE This directory is the location of DAZzle application file (DAZZLE.EXE). This is shown for information purposes only.

• Graphics ...MORE This is the default location of image files that the Add Graphic command uses. To change the default location, enter the complete path where your image files are stored.
  When you add images, you can select files in any directory, and DAZzle remembers the complete path of any image file.

• Layouts ...MORE This is the default location of DAZzle layout files. To change the default location, enter the complete path where your image files are stored.
  When you save or retrieve layouts, you can specify any directory, and DAZzle remembers the complete path of any layout file.

• Important! For beta test use only: This feature might not be available to you. Some users have access to a new processing server which allows faster processing. You may see one or more of the following:

  • Traditional (for future use).
  • High-speed processing: If available, select the High-speed processing check box if you would like to participate in this beta feature. If this feature does not work in a satisfactory manner, clear the High-speed processing check box.
