Set Up Mail Class Automation Codes

You can set up Endicia Professional to recognize USPS mail class codes from your database and automatically translate to the desired USPS mail class in Endicia Professional. The use of Mail Class Automation Codes is optional.

You can create multiple mail class codes for the same mail class in Endicia Professional. For example, in your list, two codes would cause Endicia Professional to switch to Priority Mail—PM and USPS PM.

In the following list, any transactions that use the mail codes PM or USPS PM use the same Priority Mail mail class.

FC for First-Class Letter.
USPS FC for First-Class Letter.
MM for Media Mail.
MEDIA for Media Mail.
BOOK for Media Mail.
PM for Priority Mail.
USPS PM for Priority Mail.

The following image shows examples of the same suggested mail codes and their corresponding mail classes.

Depending on your situation, you might set up mail class automation codes from either:

The Order Lookup Data Map window if you are printing from the Order Lookup tab.
The Batch Print Data Map window if you are batch printing through the Batch Print tab.

The following Steps describe how to set up USPS mail class automation codes from either the Order Lookup Data Map window or the Batch Print Data Map window.

Steps

Access either the Order Lookup Data Map window or the Batch Print Data Map window.
On the Package Details tab, connect (map) a field from your data source to the Endicia Professional Mail Class field.
To the right of the Mail Class field, click the Edit Mail Class Codes button.

The Edit Source Data Mail Class Codes window appears.

To add a mail class code, select a mail class from the list in the lower half of the window.
In the "if database field value equals" field, enter your code for that mail class.
Click the "+" (Add) button.
Repeat the Steps 2 through 5 to add as many mail class codes that you need.
Click OK.

At your option, you can set up Endicia Professional to recognize tracking service codes, such as USPS Tracking, E-DelCon, and Signature Confirmation, from your database and automatically change to the desired tracking service.
