About Connecting to Microsoft Excel

• The file should not be opened by or is not accessible to the user.
• Custom SQL language needs to be applied to Edit field values or to create virtual fields during the import process.
• Microsoft Excel is not installed on the shipping station.
• The file name is always the same.
• The file is in a shared location and needs to be accessed from multiple workstations.

• The file is a CSV file but needs to have shipping data, such as tracking numbers or corrected addresses, written back to specific cells.
• Excel formulas need to be applied during the post-back process.
• The file name changes frequently, such as a daily order file that includes a date in the file name.
• The file does not need to be accessed by multiple workstations simultaneously.
• The user is able to have the file open in Microsoft Excel during the shipping process.
• The file begins with one or more rows that are NOT header rows.
