About the Customs Forms Data Map

If you ship to international or APO/FPO (military) addresses, you can specify how Endicia Professional automatically retrieves the line-item information for the customs form. Endicia Professional uses a specific data map to retrieve line-item customs information.

Each customs form line item includes the following fields:

Quantity
Description
Value
Origin Country
Weight

To set up the Customs Data Map, you need to link a Endicia Professional field—such as the Order Number field, a value in the Description field, or Rubber Stamp 1-10 fields—to a reference field in the customs data source. Endicia Professional offers flexibility in accommodating many different data source setups. The following are examples of different data source setups.

The customs data table uses the Order Number for the reference ID. For example, the Order Number reference ID field is the same for both the Endicia Professional and customs data. In turn, you map or assign your customs data source fields to Endicia Professional Quantity, Description, Value, Origin Country, and Weight fields.
The customs data table uses a reference ID field other than Order Number. The value is brought into Endicia Professional through a spare Description or Rubber Stamp 1-10 field on the Order Lookup tab. In turn, you map or assign your customs data source fields to Endicia Professional Quantity, Description, Value, Origin Country, Weight fields.

After you set up your Customs Data Map, Endicia Professional automatically retrieves customs form data after you retrieve order information. You cannot see the customs form information, however, until you are ready to print the shipping label. When you click the Print command, Endicia Professional displays the retrieved customs form line-item information in a window.
