Troubleshoot Postage

Verify that you entered the weight and dimensions of your item correctly because adjustments for balloon rate or oversized packages may have been applied. If that is not the problem, your zone file may be corrupted (damaged). Rates for some postage classes are calculated by a combination of distance ("zone") and weight, so a corrupted zone file could make some postage rates incorrect.

The following steps describe how to replace your zone file.

Steps

1. From DAZzle, select Help > Diagnostic Tests.
2. Select Download Updated Zone Chart from the list.

3. Click the Run Test button.

   The test results indicate which ZIP Code was used to calculate your new zone chart.

4. If the first 3 digits do not match the ZIP Code from where you do your mailing, update the physical address for your Endicia account at Endicia, exit and rerun DAZzle, and then repeat this procedure.
5. Click the Close button when done.
6. Exit and rerun DAZzle.

7. Enter an address to verify the postage rate.

   If your postage rates are still incorrect, contact Technical Support.

For each layout, you must enable postage printing.

To buy or print postage, DAZzle must access your postage account, which DAZzle does through a secured connection on the Internet.

The postage amount depends on the weight of the mailpiece. If you enter the incorrect weight and therefore need to print additional postage to make up the difference, select File > Print and use the Amount Correction feature that is available in the Postage Printing Options dialog box.

The date on a mailpiece MUST be the day that you actually mail the piece. You can set the date ahead by up to 7 (seven) days if you are not mailing the same day that you are printing the mailpiece. If you are printing more than one mailpiece to send at a later date, you can select the Remember this check box to use that advance date for your next printing.

Steps

1. From the Design tab, select File >Print.

2. On the Print dialog box, in the Postage tab, select the Ship Date.

   Up to seven dates are available.

3. Optional: Select the Remember this check box if you are printing additional mailpieces with the same date.

If the postmark date on your mailpiece has passed, you must print a date correction label and affix the date correction label to the back of your envelope. Alternately, you can print the date correction directly on the back of your envelope. For a package or bubble envelope, place the re-dated label next to the original shipping label on the same side of the package as the original label.

• Note: Printing on the back of envelopes might not be possible with some printers.
